Angela Hawkins – Colorado
only started hunting about 2 years ago, but have always been passionate about women being in the outdoors. With a motto of “education, not legislation”, I am devoted to educating youth and women. I have been an avid outdoors woman for over 15 years in the fields of backpacking and hiking. I only recently got into hunting because I never had the knowledge, access, or mentors to teach me (it was always for the guys when I was growing up – GGGRRRR!). My goal is to someday be a bow huntress. Recently, I have become a board member of a new non-profit in Colorado called Step Up Step Out. We are the bridge between the hunter safety course and the field. We take all novice hunters and teach them the ins and outs of being a responsible hunter and teach them to preserve the habitats in which they want to hunt. I am the perfect candidate for the Extreme Huntress because I believe there are many women out there that would be able to relate to me being new to the field. It makes me accessible to the newest hunters. I may be new but I am a proficient marksman and I learn fast. I am an entertainer so I’m good on camera and not shy. I am not a know-it-all. I am humble and relatable. I am an every day woman that enjoys being outdoors. This year I hope to get my first buck and maybe even my first bull elk. If you are looking for a sassy but friendly, bubbly but cool headed, newbie but trainable person, then I’m your gal!
